Coming home

Andi and Benton are coming home from Texas on Thursday…. finally. They don’t know yet if Drew will be coming with them or not (it’s a long story that I don’t want to get into.. let’s just say it involves the Army).

So either Andi, Drew and Benton will be leaving Thursday or Andi and Benton will. I just hope they don’t need to use their roadside assistance plan and the trip goes smoothly. If all goes well they’ll be back home sometime Friday night.

I can’t wait to see them. I miss them all so much.

Only 2 months away

Christmas is just a little more than 2 months away. My, how time has flown. It seems like this year just started but in reality it’s almost over. I really need to start getting some sort of gifts together for Christmas.

My oldest son is a big sports fan so I could get him some football gifts, like a jersey or a nice throw. He like the Philadelphia Eagles and his wife was raised in Texas and is a Dallas Cowboys fan. I would really love to get them each something for the teams they love but put her name on his gift and his name on hers. I would just love to see the expressions on their faces when they each open a jersey for the other’s favorite team!

But seriously, I have a large family and I need to get started shopping. I may not be able to get everyone something grand and expensive but I will shop around at some discount places and hopefully can come up with some really good deals.

New grand daughter

I have a new grand daughter. This makes grandbaby #7. Sophia Josephine was born on July 20, 2010. She weighed 7 lbs 11 ounces and was 19 inches long. She has black hair and blue eyes.

Her parents are my oldest son and his wife who live in Texas. Sophia is their 2nd child. They have a 3 year old son named Trey.

Since I live in New Jersey and am unemployed I don’t know when I’ll get to meet Sophia. We can’t afford to travel right now. We just don’t have the money for that. I’ll just have to be content to watch her grow up in pictures for now.

Cleaning

I had a fire outside my front door the other day. I’ve been spending the last couple of days cleaning up because of the smoke and soot that got inside through cracks in the door. I vacuumed everyday since Thursday and there are still soot tracks from the firemen. My daughter is coming up from Texas this week and should be here on Thursday and I have to de-soot this place by then. I’ve been burning candles and spraying Febreez to get rid of the lingering odors.

It was a teenager that started the fire. As far as I know they haven’t caught him yet. I wish someone would put a Garmin GPS device on him and track him down and throw is butt in jail!
