We have had so much snow so far this winter that we broke a record. We’ve had a few big storms in row, which is very unusual for this area. Usually our winter average is about 10 to 18 inches. We’ve had over 40 inches for this winter and it’s not over yet!
There is so much snow on the ground that anyone who has a fish pond won’t see their pond filters for a good long time!
I swear if I see another flake come down from the sky I’m going to cry!
We could get up to 2 ft of snow starting this afternoon and continuing into late Saturday night. As soon as the weather word, that we have a blizzard warning, got out Shoprite got crowded like they were having a super daily deal and giving stuff away.
I went past Shoprite yesterday and it was jam packed. There was almost a couple accidents with people trying to get into and out of the parking lot. Luckily I went and got food on Tuesday so I’m good for the weekend.
I should really go there because JoJo is almost out of her food, but I think there might be enough until I’m able to get the car dug out. If not I do have a couple cans of canned food for her.
The other day I drove past a house and they were having a yard sale. The temperatures have only been in the 20’s and 30’s here. There weren’t very many people there and they had a lot of stuff out. I could see something that looked like a cigar store Indian too.
I don’t know why they didn’t wait until spring or a really warm day to hold a yard sale. I know I wouldn’t want to tramp through several inches of snow in someone’s yard to buy some over-priced items.
I hope everyone had a great holiday. I was hoping to get called for some employee screening but I haven’t heard anything yet. There are just not many job opening out there for me and those that I do get an interview for have a lot of people that applied. I’m still keeping my hopes up that I get a job soon.
Last week we got over 12 inches of snow and starting Friday night the temperature rose and we got rain. It rained all day yesterday too. Now all that’s left of the snow is what was piled up from it being plowed. Now hubby wants more snow. He worked 34 hours plowing during that last snowstorm. Big money to be made doing that!
It’s just about that time to start sending out the Christmas cards. Do you make your own or buy them? Do you have them engraved or do you write your own personal messages in them and sign them by hand? Do you pick up the cheapest box of cards that are all the same, generic ones or do you spend a few bucks and have fancy christmas photo cards made?
I’ve done it just about every way mentioned above except for the photo cards. I could never get hubby to do a family photo. He hates having his picture taken and getting dressed up for one.
Which types do you like the best? I really love the cute ones with snowmen, animals or with a pretty snow scene on the the most. Unfortunately I probably won’t be sending out any cards this year. My leftover cards from last year are in storage and I really can’t afford to do the cards this year.
I know a lot of places around the country had snow just before Christmas. One place was las vegas nv and a lot of the mid-west. I was hoping we’d have a white Christmas but that didn’t happen. In fact it got up to 68 degrees today. On Christmas day it was in the 50’s. A few days before that we barely got out of the 20’s.
The weather has really been messed up lately. No wonder there are so many people with colds. You just don’t know how to dress from one day to the next.
I’m hoping we do see snow sometime this winter. Hubby has a plow and would like to use it to make some extra money.
