New phone?

My daughter is thinking of getting a new phone. Has anyone read any smart phone reviews? That is what she’s thinking of getting.

I’m happy with the phone I have right now so I’ll keep that one for awhile yet. My daughter likes all the bells and whistles that the new phones have with all their apps and such. Hubby and I have to keep costs down so we don’t have a plan with internet access (hubby wouldn’t know what to do with internet access anyway.. he’s not computer literate and always asks me to look stuff up on the web for him anyway).

My daughter has all the text and data plans with her phone. She likes to be able to access the web that way when she’s not near her computer.

Many ways

There are many ways to access the internet these days. I remember when there was only 1 way. That was by a big, clunky desktop computer. Now you can access it by your cell phone, PDAs and laptops.

I guess you could call me an old fashioned girl. I only get online by my desktop but it’s not old and clunky. I have a nice flat screen monitor (my old one took up half my desk!). The tower is still big but usually that hides in a door in my desk. I do use a wireless mouse though and wireless internet. When I 1st started online there was only dial-up and I was on AOL. That was the biggest pick-up place ever. Someone would always look for people online and try to pick them up. It was a bad scene.

I don’t use my cell for internet access because the data portion that’s necessary for that costs extra. I don’t need that anyway. But I do send status messages to Facebook by text once in awhile.

Do you use a PDA or cell phone for internet purposes?

Ok

Ok.. get ready. I’ll be doing a lot more posting here now and on my other 2 blogs. So get comfy in your home theater seating or computer chairs and prepare to be amazed!

I had a lot of internet problems that have straightened itself out and now I can see more than just a couple of websites. There has also been a lot of stuff happening in my life that and that is slowly getting better too. So I’m feeling like typing my little fingers off again.

Staying the night

What kind of accommodations do you look for when traveling? Do you go the camping route? The motel route? Or do you look for the best hotels anaheim has to offer when you are in California?

Personally hotels are a bit pricey for our budget and we usually go the motel route. There are good ones out there and the ones we’ve liked best are Super 8 motels. At least the ones between here and Texas were good. They had free wireless internet and the beds were really comfy and clean. The rooms were spotless. In fact hubby liked them so much that any time we go anywhere he wants to stay in a Super 8.

It’s in and out

I’m trying to get some posts done while I can. I’m using wireless internet at my brother-in-laws house, which is where our camper is set up, and the internet goes in an out a lot. I never know when it’s going to quit. I could be in the middle of doing a search for herbal acne treatments and boom.. the internet signal disappears. I guess it doesn’t help that we are in a metal camper and about 50 or so feet from the wireless router.

I have to keep moving my computer tower from place to place to get a half way decent signal. The most signal I’m able to get is 2 out of 5 bars. I can’t wait until we can find a house to rent and get good internet again!
