New hobby

I decided I want to try out a new hobby. I want to get a program to do some digital scrap booking. I want to make a scrap book for my mom for when she goes in the nursing home and it might even be good for making some cute baby shower invitations.

I’d like to make a book for each of our grandkids too. It’s something they can save and show to their kids, when they have some later on.

I’ve been checking out reviews of such programs and found a good one for under $40. But all this will have to wait until I move and get my stuff out of storage so I can scan old photos to put in mom’s book.

Spare bedroom = less aggravation

We have a spare bedroom that serves as a guest room and a playroom for when the grandkids are here. The room has a bed, dresser, recliner and a TV that the boys XBox is hooked up to. We didn’t used to have a spare TV but we do now and I thought it would be better to have the boys play their games in there when they are here.

It is better.. it’s quieter and hubby can watch what he wants in the living room. Before Tayler went to Texas with her mom she got to play on the XBox without bothering anyone or anyone bothering her. Andi even went in there to play the XBox too. I guess she needed an escape from her parents too.

That bedroom is a really nice size and there is still plenty of room even with the bed, dresser, recliner, TV and toys.

Cookies

I have the grandkids this weekend and we made cookies… chocolate chip cookies to be exact. Well actually I made them and they ate them. My Christmas party, at work, is on Monday so I made a batch for the party as well. I’m surprised I have as many cookies as I do because a lot of cookie dough just didn’t make it onto the cookie sheets *licks lips*. The grandkids were more than happy to be taste testers. They tasted and tasted and tasted some more. Kody, the youngest, told me my cookies were the awesome-est! They just kept asking for more, but they only had 3 each. I didn’t want them to spoil dinner or get a belly ache.

Besides cookie making I went grocery shopping, bought some Christmas gifts and went to CVS to pick up a prescription and a few other things. I came home, cleaned and polished my discount furniture, ran the dishwasher then went to pick up the grandkids.

After all these pictures are you hungry yet?

I tricked Kody

I had 3 of my grandkids here overnight on Saturday. For dinner I made cheeseburgers and fries for dinner. The youngest one, Kody, saw a small jar on the counter that came out of the box of NASCAR burgers and asked what it was. It was a jar of seasoning and Kody said he didn’t want that on his burger. I told him ok and he left the kitchen. I proceeded to put the seasoning on all of the burgers. As they were eating and Kody was almost done with his burger I asked him how it was. He told me it was yummy. I then told him that it had the seasoning on it that he said he didn’t want. The look on his face was priceless. He did finish the cheeseburger… with a smile.

We all ate so much that night that all of us should have hopped on a treadmill to work it all off! We all had a great time and I was so happy to see them. I’ve really missed those little buggers.
