I finally got a new desktop computer. It’s an emachines. I was looking at hp desktops at the store but they didn’t have the one I wanted in stock. I didn’t need a monitor and all that stuff.. just the desktop. I saw this one for roughly the same price as the HP and got this one.
I just love it. It’s fast, small and compact and fits nicely on my small writing desk. I really wanted to get an HP but the ones they had at the store cost more than my pocketbook could afford right now.
After not having a desktop computer since July I set up my new computer that I finally got on Monday. I put all the information into Windows Live Mail for my domain email accounts. I hadn’t accessed them since July and when I finally did the account for this domain had tons of contact form spam. Someone had sent literally thousands of contact form spams containing mostly spam for things like adapexin-p and other drugs.
It took a really long time for the emails to download and for me to mark the senders all as spam. I think I’m going to have to remove my contact form from my blog.
First off I want to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas and I hope all your wishes get fulfilled.
Christmas is a sparse one here in the Muskett household. Maybe next year will be better. I’m already thinking of things to get everyone next year. If my uncle, who smoked cigars, was still alive I would get him a really nice cigar humidor to keep his cigars in.
I want to spoil my grandkids, for once, and get them exactly what they want.. no matter the cost. I would spoil myself and get myself a really nice computer. I murdered my last one trying to give it a good cleaning. I ended up bending the pins on the processor and couldn’t afford to buy a new one (they’re very expensive) and I couldn’t straighten the pins enough so it would work again.
Here’s hoping and praying that next year is a better year than this one has been.
I have two things waiting just around the corner… moving (Saturday) and Christmas. Unfortunately Christmas has to go to the back burner.. I just can’t afford Christmas again this year. It’s really getting old not being able to afford to buy anything for anyone including myself.
I’d really like to get the kids each a pair of julbo sunglasses or something equally as nice. I’d love to get myself a computer since I don’t have one anymore but a place to live is more important right now.
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was pretty good. I cooked a small turkey, stuffing, & gravy. We also had mashed potatoes, corn & crescent rolls. The grandkids were here for dinner and they enjoyed it. They also enjoyed the pumpkin & dutch apple pies with whipped cream we had for dessert.
Today is Black Friday and I’m one of the few who avoid the stores like a plague on Black Friday. There is no way I could get up super early in the morning and stand in long lines just to get disappointed when the item I wanted has already been sold out. I’d rather do my shopping online on Cyber Monday and get my great deals.
I’ve been getting emails from many places today letting me know about their sales. I just wish I had the money to take advantage of them. I’d really like to get a new computer since I killed the last two I had. *sigh*
I’m getting the part I need to finally get my desktop computer fixed. Hopefully I’ll have it in a few days and be back in business on my desktop and Andi can have this laptop back. If this part doesn’t fix it then I’ll have to save up money to find theBest Buy I can on something other than a Dell computer. They used to be good computers but out of the 5 Dells in this house none of them are working right anymore.
I have to do some comparison shopping and read some reviews to find a really good, reliable computer to buy. Even if this part does fix my problem I’m going to save for a new computer. Dell’s are really not as good as they used to be and I don’t want to have more problems down the road.
There are many ways to access the internet these days. I remember when there was only 1 way. That was by a big, clunky desktop computer. Now you can access it by your cell phone, PDAs and laptops.
I guess you could call me an old fashioned girl. I only get online by my desktop but it’s not old and clunky. I have a nice flat screen monitor (my old one took up half my desk!). The tower is still big but usually that hides in a door in my desk. I do use a wireless mouse though and wireless internet. When I 1st started online there was only dial-up and I was on AOL. That was the biggest pick-up place ever. Someone would always look for people online and try to pick them up. It was a bad scene.
I don’t use my cell for internet access because the data portion that’s necessary for that costs extra. I don’t need that anyway. But I do send status messages to Facebook by text once in awhile.
Do you use a PDA or cell phone for internet purposes?
I need to get my eyes checked. It’s been over 2 years and they say you should have your eyes checked at least every 2 years. What I would really love to have is those multi-focal contacts or Lasik surgery. I really don’t like wearing glasses. I have a pair of bi-focals for reading and driving, etc and I have another pair for working at the computer. It’s a real pain to have to change glasses all the time.
There has been a few times where I left the house wearing my computer glasses and didn’t realize it until I was going down the road. I had to turn around and go back home and get my other glasses.
Actually what I’d really love to have it the eyesight I used to have. I didn’t wear glasses when I was younger. I didn’t have to start wearing glasses until I was in my 40′s. I’ll take my age 20 eyesight anytime!
