Speaking of being prepared…

If this winter is anything like last winter people might want to find stores that have honda generators for sale just in case. Last winter we had lots of snow and really cold temperatures and the electric would go out.

We were in our camper last winter and luckily the camper has a battery backup for the lights. Anything plugged into the outlets didn’t work, like the TV and computer, but at least there was light. We would also lite the burners on the stove to heat the camper, which wasn’t too bad.

It would have been nice to have a generator last year. I just hope we won’t need one this year.

Moving

I’m moving tomorrow. I’m finally getting out of this camper. It’s been a long 9 months. I’m moving in, and sharing a house, with my daughter, her fiancee, my 10 month old grandson and their puppy.

Today I’ve been packing up my stuff from here. I have my toothpaste, clothes, sleeping pills, hairbrush, makeup and all the stuff I brought from the condo all packed up.

I can’t wait to get the heck out of here. I hate it with a passion. It will be so nice to have a heck of a lot more room to move around in. I’ll have a bedroom that’s about 5 times bigger than the one in this camper.

Economy = bad

I was flipping though the channels on the tv the other day and saw a show about how horrible the economy is. They were showing people living on the street and talking about how many are losing their homes. They interviewed one guy who said “they are making me sell my timeshare“.

I’m sorry.. I just can’t feel bad for that guy. I don’t have a job.. I’m still trying to find one and I live in a camper. I just couldn’t see myself spending money on a house that you have to share with other people during the year. If I were to spend money on a house it would be one that my family would live in all year around.

She’s so strange sometimes

JoJo, my cat, must have been reading over my shoulder when I posted about her in an earlier post. Right now she’s running back an forth like a crazy cat who’s trying to get rid of belly fat. Her eyes are wide and wild looking as she zooms from one end of the camper to the other. She looks around like the devil himself is chasing her.

I should get out my video camera and record that the next time she acts that way. Someone might get a laugh or two out of it.

It sucks to be broke

Yes.. it sucks to be broke. Anyone who has ever been broke should know what I mean. I need new clothes because my current wardrobe is getting threadbare and falling apart. I don’t want to go out and buy expensive stuff like Cole Haan shoes. I just want to be able to go to Target or even WalMart and get something halfway decent to wear.

My socks are getting holey along with my underwear. My bras are losing their elasticity. My jeans and springing holes around the pockets and seams. It’s horrible to have to live this way.. I don’t want people to think I’m a homeless bag lady because that’s how my clothes look. I’m not really homeless.. I do have a roof over my head.. even though it’s a camper roof… at least it’s a roof and it’s warm inside.

I don’t like the lighting

I really don’t like the lighting in this camper. The lights use automobile bulbs and they give off a Golden lighting glow. It just doesn’t look natural. I don’t like the light that florescent bulbs give off either. A lot of them are too harsh.

The compact florescent bulbs aren’t too bad.. it’s the long florescent tubes that are the worse ones. I had those in my condo in the kitchen. I can’t wait to get a house and have some kind of normal lighting, appliances and stuff again!

No car this weekend

Andi and Drew took my car yesterday. It’s not because I’m old and shouldn’t be on the road anymore and should be using Medicare supplement insurance.. it’s because they went up to Pennsylvania for the weekend to visit Drew’s family.

I feel lost without my car. They’ll be back sometime on Sunday and I can’t wait! I’m already going stir crazy with cabin (camper) fever. Hubby and I took down the blinds in the camper today and he took them outside and cleaned them. While he was doing that I cleaned the windows and stuff. That took all of about a half hour then I was bored again.

Had a really busy day

I had a really busy day today. First I went to the bank to make a deposit, then I went to WaWa, the laundromat, CVS then to Shoprite. Then I called Andi to see if she needed to borrow my car… she did. So I picked her up and she dropped me off at the camper.

I had EBay auctions that ended while I was out so I had to send out invoices for that stuff. I relisted some things that didn’t sell in a different format and within 10 minutes of listing them they all sold! So that meant sending out more invoices.

Next was to get the cat fur off my comforter.. see review below… then put away the clean clothes. The next step was to work on my blogs, which I’m still doing, and wait for Andi to come back to pick me up so I can take her back home.

I left the camper about 9am this morning and got back here about 12:30pm.. almost 1pm. At least the day was productive and I got lots accomplished. I was even thinking of checking out some term life insurance online quotes. I still might do that later on.
