Paint on Vinyl Flooring

Clean floorWhen I moved into my condo there were paint drips all over the vinyl floors. I tried all kinds of things to get the paint off from using a dull blade from a utility knife to one of those scrubbing sponges. Nothing was working. I finally wet the spots and used a metal spatula to remove the paint. It worked really well.

The floor has grooves in it so I had to use a small screwdriver to get the paint out of the grooves. My floor looks so much better now. Now I don’t cringe when I walk into my kitchen.

I tried to do the same thing in the bathroom but I need to find a plan B for that room because the flooring has a different makeup than the kitchen floor and the paint just won’t come off. I even tried nail polish remover (in a hidden area) but that just started removing the finish of the floor… (oops!!!).

I’ll get it all cleaned up eventually. It will just be a case of trial and error in the bathroom.

New neighbor moving in

We have a new neighbor moving in upstairs today. Joy! I was kind of hoping it would stay empty for awhile but I guess not. There is a big moving van outside right now and they are moving in furniture and boxes of stuff that I’m sure contains all kinds of household stuff and skin care products for the new neighbor.

I had to go out in my pajamas and slippers to move my car for the moving truck to park in. I’m not real happy about this whole new neighbor thing. I just hope she’s a quiet person and doesn’t make a heck of a lot of noise.

Still looking

I’m still looking for a job. It’s now been over 2 years since I worked and I’ve been looking for a job all this time. I do office work and can’t sit or stand for long periods of time so sales jobs are out of the question for me.

It gets very frustrating sending out resume after resume and not getting a call or going to an interview and not getting hired.

But on the upside my house is always nice an clean!

Watch out

Today I was trying to find a work-at-home type of job. I was searching for those kinds of scams so I could avoid them. While searching I came across a site about lipozene scams.

I don’t know why people have to sell things and claim that they do this and that for you when they really don’t do a darn thing or do things that can harm your health.

Almost every work-at-home site I found is either not legitimate or an outright scam and totally illegal. I get at least 1 email a week offering me a job where I can make $80 to $100 thousand dollars a year just by checking my email 3 times a day and some other small stuff. That just screams scam.

Just a word of warning.. always Google the company and check to see if there are scam reports/reviews of them before accepting anything that you didn’t apply for or before applying for something like that.

Time to purge… again

I live in a small 1 bedroom condo and storage space is very limited. I’ve been here since the middle of December and it’s time to go through things and purge again. I have magazines I need to go through and clip some articles out that I want to keep and recycle the magazines. I don’t need the articles relating to the best gifts for corporate off site events but I want to keep the ones for organizing small spaces.

I still have boxes from when I moved in that I need to break down and take to the recycling bin too.

Thankful for small things

I took a good look at my face in the mirror this morning. I have lots of wrinkles and age spots and other blemishes on my face. The one thing I didn’t see were blackheads on nose. I guess I should be thankful for that. If I did have blackheads then my nose would just look like a strawberry and I don’t want to have a strawberry on my face.

I got out my creams and stuff trying to make my face look a little younger. I don’t think I succeeded though but it doesn’t look as dry and shriveled up as it did.

I love Google

I was watching a show on TV and they mentioned something called Nitrix. They didn’t say what it was or what it does so I Googled it and found a page with nitrix reviews.

It seems to be something that body builders use when they reach a plateau in their body building. There were a lot of comments/reviews on this product and if I were into body building I’d probably look into trying it. I don’t think my back would stand up to lifting weights since my spinal fusion surgery.

Job interview

I have a job interview in the morning and I have a whole lot to do to get ready for it. When I get up I have to shower and wash my hair, blow dry my hair and make it look nice.

Then I have to actually find something in my closet that’s decent enough to wear to an interview. Then I have to hunt down my natural makeup… I don’t know exactly where it is because I rarely wear makeup.

*sigh* I just hope I make a good impression and walk away with a job. It’s only part time but it’s better than sitting here on my butt and not making any money.
