Cleaning Tips

Monday, April 14th, 2008

I’ve been cleaning like crazy today to keep my mind off of smoking. I posted before about my favorite cleaning product Magic Erasers. I went through 2 of them today cleaning the kitchen. I used it to clean my stainless steel sink, the inside and outside of my slow cooker (with the ceramic liner removed), the counters, the stove, the front of the dishwasher (where some gravy from my roast dripped) and even the floor (more gravy drips). I cleaned the outside of the fridge, the cabinet doors (I have those fugly, white laminate cabinets) and I’ll bet they’d do a good job on a set of Cobra golf clubs.

I have my IPod going and I’m dancing around and cleaning like crazy. I’ve also taken the broom and cleaned the ceiling (I have those nasty popcorn ceilings in this place). I always used to play music and dance around and clean and it used to keep me skinny. Maybe it will still work!

Magic Eraser

Magic Eraser Today I want to talk about Mr Clean Magic Eraser. This is the best product I’ve found for cleaning! I’ve had crayon, marker, heel marks that I couldn’t get rid of. Along comes the Magic Eraser and poof… marks be gone! I love it.

  • Use it on shower doors and soap scum vanishes!
  • On the refrigerator, in those little texture grooves on the handles and on the door, it wipes the crud clean away.
  • They are great for cleaning vertical blinds. I used them on mine. First I had tried other cleaners and they left stains. Magic Eraser made my blinds look brand new… no stains!
  • On floors.. it gets the dirt out of all the little crevices
  • Makes tennis shoes look like new again
  • Cleaning white grout effortlessly
  • remove tarnish from silver
  • remove mold & mildew from anything plastic
  • clean & polish gold jewelry
  • clean splatters inside the microwave
  • clean mirrors in the bathroom (keeps shower mirrors from fogging)
  • remove adhesive residue after removing stickers
  • remove hair dye from countertops & floors
  • clean light-colored suede
  • clean plastic coolers inside and out
  • remove rust spots & stains on countertop
  • remove cooked-on stains in pots and pans
  • clean sticky/dusty range hood over the stove
  • clean oven shelves & the grates on the grill
  • remove paint spills & oversprays
  • remove coffee & tea stains that remain inside a mug, caraffe, thermos even after washing
  • remove baked on brown spots on cookware
  • clean car tires, including white walls
  • remove hairspray build-up on countertops and vanities
  • remove food stains inside plastic food containers
  • clean inside of the refrigerator
  • clean a car’s vinyl interior
  • remove bugs from car windshield, grille, and bumper
  • clean kids’ plastic toys
  • All you need to do to use the Magic Eraser is wet it thoroughly and squeeze out the water. When it gets dirty wet it again and squeeze it out again.

I have about 5 boxes of Magic Erasers under my sink. I love them!
