Hoarders

My aunt and uncle were hoarders. I never used to think of them that way but now that I think back on it they were. I used to think they just had a very messy house.

They had a path from the front door through to the back door and every surface (including the floor) was stacked with stuff. They must have kept stuff from the 1st day they moved in. I wonder if there were old bottles of prenatal vitamins in that stuff too. There were stacks of papers, newspapers, etc.

They had a decent sized house but all the clutter made it feel tiny. Their living room was basically cut in half by all the clutter. I remember seeing a piano and there was room behind it but that space was filled with stuff. There was stuff in front of the piano too so you couldn’t even get to it to play it. Their dining room table was piled with stuff except for spaces for them to sit and eat dinner.

They are both long gone now and I would have hated to see just how long it took to clean that house out to sell it. They must have had to use several large dumpsters to put all the clutter in. I think seeing that house that way made me hate having stuff piled up around my house. When we pack to move all the boxes sitting around waiting to be moved drive me crazy.

Home Office

Where do you have your computer? Is it in your living room, dining room or bedroom? Do you have a dedicated room full of office furniture?

I would love to have a room dedicated to my home office but as I’m living in a camper temporarily my computer desk consists of 2 wooden bar type stools with a desk pad on top. My monitor, keyboard and mouse sit on top of them. My mouse is on a plastic cutting board that I put in my lap when i need to use it. I put my keyboard in my lap to type too. My tower is sitting on a chair next to the barstools.

I’m just looking forward to the day I get my computer desk and chair back again (it’s all in storage). That will be a dream come true!

Snow, snow go away

We have had so much snow so far this winter that we broke a record. We’ve had a few big storms in row, which is very unusual for this area. Usually our winter average is about 10 to 18 inches. We’ve had over 40 inches for this winter and it’s not over yet!

There is so much snow on the ground that anyone who has a fish pond won’t see their pond filters for a good long time!

I swear if I see another flake come down from the sky I’m going to cry!

Sausage Cheese Balls

Andi made something like this when she was in school and from what I remember they were delicious. I’ll have to make them and try them. They would make a nice snack when playing on the wii.

3 cups bisquick
1 lb bulk pork sausage
4 cups grated cheddar cheese (16 oz)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup milk
**Andi’s recipe didn’t have these. The picture I’m looking at shows them without them too**
1/2 tsp dried rosemary leaves (crushed)
1 1/2 tsps chopped fresh parsley or 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
Barbecue sauce or chili sauce .. if desired

1. Heat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease bottom and sided of a jelly roll pan (15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 2 x 1 inch).

2. Stir all of the ingredients together using your hands or a spoon. Shape the mixture into 1 inch balls and place in the pan.

3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until brown. Immediately remove from the pan. Serve warm with sauce for dipping.

Staying away from there

We could get up to 2 ft of snow starting this afternoon and continuing into late Saturday night. As soon as the weather word, that we have a blizzard warning, got out Shoprite got crowded like they were having a super daily deal and giving stuff away.

I went past Shoprite yesterday and it was jam packed. There was almost a couple accidents with people trying to get into and out of the parking lot. Luckily I went and got food on Tuesday so I’m good for the weekend.

I should really go there because JoJo is almost out of her food, but I think there might be enough until I’m able to get the car dug out. If not I do have a couple cans of canned food for her.

Not the time of year for that

The other day I drove past a house and they were having a yard sale. The temperatures have only been in the 20′s and 30′s here. There weren’t very many people there and they had a lot of stuff out. I could see something that looked like a cigar store Indian too.

I don’t know why they didn’t wait until spring or a really warm day to hold a yard sale. I know I wouldn’t want to tramp through several inches of snow in someone’s yard to buy some over-priced items.
