It’s Christmas

First off I want to wish all my readers a very Merry Christmas and I hope all your wishes get fulfilled.

Christmas is a sparse one here in the Muskett household. Maybe next year will be better. I’m already thinking of things to get everyone next year. If my uncle, who smoked cigars, was still alive I would get him a really nice cigar humidor to keep his cigars in.

I want to spoil my grandkids, for once, and get them exactly what they want.. no matter the cost. I would spoil myself and get myself a really nice computer. I murdered my last one trying to give it a good cleaning. I ended up bending the pins on the processor and couldn’t afford to buy a new one (they’re very expensive) and I couldn’t straighten the pins enough so it would work again.

Here’s hoping and praying that next year is a better year than this one has been.

Check it out first

I see advertisements for all kinds of supplements on TV all the time. There are some I would like to try but it would be best if I check out reviews on a site like http://www.supplementcritic.com first.

Anytime you want to get something like diet aids or supplements, etc it’s always good to read all you can about them first. You don’t want to put anything into your body that could potentially do you more harm than good. Be smart about what you put into your body.

I need to get more multi-vitamins and calcium to take and I’ll do some reading to find the best ones I can find for a good price. I really do need the calcium because I have the beginning of Osteoporosis and my doctor told me to take calcium every day.

Christmas decorating

I’m living in a condo again and I’ve been seeing people unloading Christmas decorations from their cars. I’m guessing they are keeping their decorations in the steel buildings which is a storage facility down the street. These condos don’t come with a whole lot of storage space.

My bedroom closet is full, which is the largest closet in the place. I’m surprised at the kitchen though.. there is more cabinets and storage than I thought it would have.. which makes me happy. There are 3 nice deep drawers and one we are using as a spice drawer. We are able to store the spices upright in the drawer because it’s so deep. We use another one of the drawers to put our boxes of trash bags and storage bags in. The other is used for our silverware, etc.

New phone?

My daughter is thinking of getting a new phone. Has anyone read any smart phone reviews? That is what she’s thinking of getting.

I’m happy with the phone I have right now so I’ll keep that one for awhile yet. My daughter likes all the bells and whistles that the new phones have with all their apps and such. Hubby and I have to keep costs down so we don’t have a plan with internet access (hubby wouldn’t know what to do with internet access anyway.. he’s not computer literate and always asks me to look stuff up on the web for him anyway).

My daughter has all the text and data plans with her phone. She likes to be able to access the web that way when she’s not near her computer.

Shopping

I need to go shopping really soon. I need to make some purchases in the women’s sweaters department. I need a couple of nice, heavy, winter sweaters. I have a few sweatshirts but I need something a little warmer.

I used to have a lot of sweaters that fell apart years ago and I just never replaced them. I love to wear sweaters because they’re so nice and warm and soft. I have a couple of light weight ones just no more heavy weight ones. Maybe if Santa sees that I’ve been a good girl this year he’ll bring me a couple!

Speaking of being prepared…

If this winter is anything like last winter people might want to find stores that have honda generators for sale just in case. Last winter we had lots of snow and really cold temperatures and the electric would go out.

We were in our camper last winter and luckily the camper has a battery backup for the lights. Anything plugged into the outlets didn’t work, like the TV and computer, but at least there was light. We would also lite the burners on the stove to heat the camper, which wasn’t too bad.

It would have been nice to have a generator last year. I just hope we won’t need one this year.

Be prepared

Always be prepared for anything when you travel whether it’s just around the corner or far, far away. When you go camping or boating you should have an emergency kit with you. On a boat you should also have a radio, in case of an Offshore Injury, so you can contact the coast guard because the farther out you go, in the ocean, the less likely the chance will be that your cell phone will have service.

Granted it’s not the best time of the year here on the east coast of the United States but in other parts of the world it’s warmer weather. Regardless of the weather you should carry blankets and other safety items with you.

Changing a door knob is easy

At least it is for me. The door knob on my bedroom door broke a couple weeks ago and I had to go to the hardware store and get a new one. I went into the door hardware section and looked through the selection and found a decent one for $12.00. I read the directions because I needed to know how to change the latch part of it so I wouldn’t have to chisel out the door edge to fit it in the way it was.

I read the directions and found it was really easy to change from the flat plate that was on there to the round plate. Now my bedroom door closes and works just like it should. The whole process took me less than a half hour to complete.
