I have the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook that was my mom&#039;s. A lot of the pages have yellowed, many have been torn and some are missing.

I think ( I didn&#039;t count) I&#039;ve got between 20-30 cookbooks. Funny thing is I&#039;m one of those who feel the need to &quot;tinker&quot; with just about every recipe I find so I rarely follow them verbatim anyway.

My favorites however, aren&#039;t books. They&#039;re 2 small wooden recipe boxes stuffed full of index cards and scraps of folder paper with handwritten recipes from my grandmothers and their mothers before them.

I get a kick out of not only reading them but trying to translate some of them. If anyone knows exactly how much 2 cents of yeast is supposed to be, let me know.</description>
