It’s raining

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

It’s raining.. it’s pouring. We’re in the middle of another storm. We’ve had several today already. It’s pouring so hard it’s like someone turned on the Danze faucets. It’s thundering, lightning and windy as heck. We have a severe thunderstorm watch until 8pm and have had about 3 severe thunderstorm warnings since this morning.

It’s gotten quite dark in here and I guess I should get up and put a light on. It almost looks like night time outside. The storm isn’t right on top of us but it is getting close. I think I’m going to shut down the computer so it doesn’t get fried. Later!

Weight loss at work

Sunday, July 27th, 2008

I found a good way to lose weight at work. Just have your office copier/printer break and stay broken for 4 days. That happened in our office. We have had to use a printer in another office. For me that means about 30 trips back and forth to the other office to get the copies I printed. I don’t need to read a Lipovox review to know how to lose weight.

I just hope the printer repair guy gets there on Monday with the part needed to fix our printer!

Medical Jewelry

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Remember when medical id jewelry was plain and didn’t go with anything you wear? Now you can get some that are a little more stylish. You can even get one that doubles as a watch.

If you have a medical condition that could render you unable to tell someone what is wrong with you in an emergency a medical id is a very good thing to have. You just have the specifics of you medical condition engraved on the jewelry. That way if you are unconscious medical personnel can get you the help you need as soon as possible.

Swimsuit care

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Now that it’s summer I thought I’d post tips on caring for your new sexy swimwear.

1. Before First Use Only: Soak swimwear in a mixture of vinegar and water for approx. 30 minutes. (1 tablespoon per 1 quart of water). This will slow down fading and keep bright colors vibrant longer.

2. Before going into the pool, shower swimsuit and soak with clear water. This will help suit absorb less chlorine.

3. Rinse your swimsuit in cool water immediately after swimming in chlorinated water or salt water.

4. Never.. ever wash your swimsuit in the washer. Always wash it by hand and use a swimsuit cleaner. The washing machine can breakdown the lycra and ruin the bra cups that are sewn into a lot of swimsuits.

5. Never put your swimsuit in the dryer or in the sun. Always hang it to dry inside. The sun will speed up fading and both the dryer and sun will cause the breakdown of the elastic in your swimwear.

Easy as can be

How do you pay your bills? Do you do it the old fashioned way and write a check, make out an envelope, buy stamps, put a stamp on the envelope then drive to a mailbox to mail your checks out? That seems like an awful lot of steps.. doesn’t it? I hate paying the old fashioned way. I either pay with my debit/check card or I use my banks fee online bill pay. It saves time, money, and trips to the post office.

When you buy online, just like I did a few minutes ago, some places offer a way to pay cash using eBillme. The steps to accomplish this are very simple. You go to your banks online bill pay and add eBillme to your list of payees. After you use the checkout you go and bring up eBillme at your online bill pay, key in the amount you just spent and bingo.. you’ve paid for your purchase.

I just bought a wireless optical mouse online using eBillme and let me tell you it was so quick and so easy to do. I will definitely pay using that method again. No wasted paper, no wasted time and most importantly, with the price of fuel, no wasted gas!

Got pets?

Monday, July 7th, 2008

I can’t have a pet where I live because they aren’t allowed but I used to have pets all the time. My favorite pet was part shepherd, husky and Labrador. His name was Shannon and he was the best dog in the world. We all loved him tremendously.

I came across a great site for pet lovers, called ZooToo.com and they have several promotions to help pet shelters and rescue groups around the US. This is a place that pet lovers can go to and meet other pet lovers. At this Pet Social Network they can learn more about pets and ways to help their pets.

You can start a journal, write reviews, view products for pets and make some new friends while you’re at it. You can add pictures of your pets and go shopping for them and make recommendations for different pet products. I signed up and added my Shannon’s picture. It’s the one you see at the beginning of this post. I really miss my “Shanoo the Killer Dog”. He wasn’t a killer he was the biggest sweetheart you’d ever want to meet.
