Do me a favor…..

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

Please be careful when you’re grocery shopping. Look where you’re going. Pay attention and don’t ram your cart into people. That’s just rude. I’ve lost count of how many times people have rammed their carts into the back of me because they were so busy either talking to someone on their cell phones or they were too busy looking at the stuff on the shelves and not paying attention.

I really don’t like going grocery shopping and coming home with cuts and bruises. So please.. wake up and pay attention. Oh.. another thing… don’t stop your cart in the middle of the aisle and walk away from it to get something down the aisle. Either park it on the side of the aisle or take the cart with you. Thank you! end rant

I need a house

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

I keep getting a decorating bug but I can’t do what I picture in my mind. I am allowed to paint, but the colors have to be neutral. The picture in my mind is in the style of the Tuscany villa rentals. If I had my own home I could do whatever I wanted with it.

Hubby thinks I watch too much HGTV. That could be true but I get a lot of good ideas watching those shows. I think I’m a closet decorator.. lol. I also like to watch Clean House on the Style channel. Watching that show makes me think that my messes really aren’t as bad as I think they are!

Big entertainment center

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

I really want to get rid of the huge entertainment center I have in my living room. The problem with doing away with that is I’d have no place to put my old TV, dvd player and the grandkids Xbox. I’d really love to get a flat screen TV and get a tv mount and mount it on the wall.

I’d still have the problem of what to do with the dvd player and Xbox but the TV problem would be taken care of. I could put a nice small bookcase under the TV and put those things on there or a small cabinet with doors to hid the electronics. I think the latter would be the better thing to do. I’ll have to think on this one for a bit and figure out the best thing to do.

Good skin

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

I’ve been fairly lucky with my skin. I’ve only had a zit or two here and there and never had to use an acne treatment on my face. I usually get a zit on my chin or by my nose once in awhile. I never had any as a teenager but I get them now that I’m older. I really don’t understand why that is.

One of my co-workers has acne so bad that she wears very heavy makeup to cover it up. She’s constantly re-applying it to keep her “flaws” covered. She’s a very vain person, but that doesn’t make her a bad person. I couldn’t wear that much makeup. In fact I rarely wear any makeup at at all. I just can’t be bothered fussing for so long to get it right every morning. I’m at the stage in my life where I feel “if you don’t like how I look then don’t look at me!”.

Cleaning your outdoor furniture

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

I’m sure, if you have outdoor furniture, you know how nasty looking it can get. Here are some tips for making your patio furniture come clean.

For aluminum furniture:
Place a good amount of dish washing detergent on a plastic scrubber or steel wool and begin to scrub.

When you’re finished, rinse the furniture real well and let it dry.

For white plastic furniture:
Place 1 gallon warm water in a bucket and add 3 teaspoons of dishwasher detergent .

Wash down the furniture with this solution.

Let the solution set on the furniture for approximately 15 minutes. (The dishwasher detergent has a bleaching agent in it that will whiten the furniture.)

Rinse and dry.

To clean unfinished wood furniture, scrub surface with a mixture of 1 cup household ammonia, 1/2 cup vinegar and 1 gallon water. Rinse well and wipe with an absorbent cloth to remove excess moisture.

Or you can do what I do.. throw it out and buy new stuff!
