New Kitchen Toy

SensoI was given a new Senseo Coffee Pod System to review. I tried it out this morning after flushing it as directed in the instructions and it’s so very easy to use. I didn’t have any creamer in the house so I had my Medium Roast coffee (included with the machine) with Splenda only. It was good coffee, it just would have been better with cream.

The Senseo came with the machine, a bag of Medium Roast coffee pods, a canister to store the pods in, a 1 cup and 2 cup pod holder and a couple coupons for Sara Lee products. Using a single pod will give you a 4 oz cup of coffee. Using 2 pods will give you an 8 oz cup of coffee (or you can make 2 4 oz cups of coffee at once). The directions are very easy to understand.

I really love cappuccino and I’ll be going to the store to get the cappuccino pods soon.

I also have 5 $20 off coupons that are good until June 30, 2008. If you would like me to send you a coupon please leave a comment saying so and I will contact you to get your address. Or if you don’t mind waiting 2 to 6 weeks you can get your machine free by filling out a form at the Senseo website.

I used one of those this morning when a colleague challenged me and said it wasn’t as good as our other coffee machine (I can’t remember the name, but it’s coffee comes in little plastic cartons, like the ones you get milk in at coffee shops).

I filled half a mug with coffee. Added skimmed milk. Warmed it up in the microwave. And then added a drop of honey. Pure magic!

We received one to test last summer and my husband loved it (took it to school and has it in his office) I have found the cheapest place to get the pods is on Amazon.com if you wait for their sales. It might be less expensive for others to purchase them locally but we live in the boonies and I use Amazon’s free shipping so it is a big savings.

If I lived far away from stores I’d go the Amazon route.. but my grocery store is 5 minutes away. :)

I have been wanting to try this machine for a while, but I just got one a few months ago that haven’t even taken out of the box yet.

I may head out and buy it anyway just to check it out. I could always sell the other on ebay right.
