I checked my stats earlier to see how people found my blog and some of the searches are just a bit silly. I’m a little disappointed that there are no searches for “small business opportunity” though. haha

Strange shopping list

I went grocery shopping last week and when I grabbed a cart there was a piece of paper in it. I went to throw it out but the list on the paper caught my eye. It wasn’t a normal list, it had a few strange things on it.

eggs
milk
butter
Leptovox
car wax
shovel
green paint
red paint
sequins
seeds
acorns

I don’t know what this person was going to do with some of that stuff but a lot of that stuff they couldn’t have gotten in a grocery store anyway. It left me scratching my head and laughing a little.

White Christmas?

I know a lot of places around the country had snow just before Christmas. One place was las vegas nv and a lot of the mid-west. I was hoping we’d have a white Christmas but that didn’t happen. In fact it got up to 68 degrees today. On Christmas day it was in the 50′s. A few days before that we barely got out of the 20′s.

The weather has really been messed up lately. No wonder there are so many people with colds. You just don’t know how to dress from one day to the next.

I’m hoping we do see snow sometime this winter. Hubby has a plow and would like to use it to make some extra money.

Christmas Presents

My almost 13 year old grand daughter loves horses and for Christmas she got a big tin of Bella Sara cards. In case you don’t know Bella Sara is an online place where kids can care for “magical” horses, play games, etc. Some day she’d love to have horses of her own along with all of the horse supplies needed to care for them. She’s loved horses since she was a little one.

She not only loves horses but she loves Unicorns too. She has tons of stuffed animals including horses and unicorns. I gave her a $25 gift card for Christmas and she says she wants to use it to get more stuffed animal horses and more Bella Sara cards.

Aches and pains

Ever since I hurt my back in 2001 I’ve had to live with aches and pains every day. Even after 2 surgeries, a discectomy and a spinal fusion, I live with the aches and pains. I refuse to have another surgery as I can deal with the pains I have and don’t want them to be worse. I also have shoulder pain that I have to deal with too. I can’t sit for more than an hour without having to get up and move around. I can’t stand for more than 10 or 15 minutes without my back starting to hurt.

At least I don’t have pain from Plantar Fasciitis. That’s about the only part of my body that doesn’t give me any pain except if I wear heels. So I spend my life in sneakers or my Bear Paw boots (I just love them.. they’re so comfortable!).

Cookies

I have the grandkids this weekend and we made cookies… chocolate chip cookies to be exact. Well actually I made them and they ate them. My Christmas party, at work, is on Monday so I made a batch for the party as well. I’m surprised I have as many cookies as I do because a lot of cookie dough just didn’t make it onto the cookie sheets *licks lips*. The grandkids were more than happy to be taste testers. They tasted and tasted and tasted some more. Kody, the youngest, told me my cookies were the awesome-est! They just kept asking for more, but they only had 3 each. I didn’t want them to spoil dinner or get a belly ache.

Besides cookie making I went grocery shopping, bought some Christmas gifts and went to CVS to pick up a prescription and a few other things. I came home, cleaned and polished my discount furniture, ran the dishwasher then went to pick up the grandkids.

Cookies

This weekend I have to bake cookies for our Christmas party at work. I’m planning on making my famous chocolate chip cookies.. Well they aren’t really my famous cookies… I use the recipe on the bag of Nestle’s Chocolate Morsels. I just love the taste of them.

I hope all goes well this time. The last time I tried to make cookies my indoor lighting in the kitchen went out and it was too dark to make them. I have 2 really long fluorescent tubes above my cabinets and I don’t know when the last time they were changed. They both went out within a couple minutes of each other. Luckily I hadn’t gotten any further than getting everything out to make them. I hadn’t actually started them.

Ick

I need to find a good acne treatment because I have 3… count em.. 3 zits on my chin! 2 are big ones and one is a small one that is almost gone.

I used to have good skin when I was a teenager then as I got older my skin got worse. I just really don’t understand that at all. Isn’t it usually the other way around? I don’t even get my period anymore.. I had a hysterectomy when I was 27. At least I don’t get the greasy hair much anymore. In fact it’s gone the other way. It gets really dry and fly-away. It’s really bad in the winter and my hair likes to snap, crackle and pop and attack my face! I need to find something to help with that.
